Viewing Indicators

You can view indicators in two ways:

View all indicators for one location

View of all indicators for one location.

You can view all available indicators for one location in the following three ways:

  • Click the View National Data link to view indicators nationally
  • Select a location (region, state, or other location) from the Select Location drop-down list to view indicators for a particular location
  • Click a desired state on the map to view indicators for the selected location

Viewing one indicator for all locations

You can view one indicator for all available locations using the fields under the View one indicator for all locations section. You may select an indicator by priority area or by data source, or select among all indicators.

To view one indicator for all locations:

  1. To view an indicator that is associated with a specific priority area, select the Priority Areas tab, then select a priority area in the Priority Area drop-down list.
  2. To view an indicator that is associated with a specific data source, select the Data Sources tab, then select a data source in the Data Source drop-down list.
  3. In the Indicator Category drop-down list available on all three tabs, select an indicator category to use for the search, for example, Heart Failure. The system enables the Indicator field and populates the drop-down list based on the category selected.
  4. In the Indicator field, select an indicator to use for the search, for example, Mortality.
  5. Click GO. The system displays the Indicator Summary page for the selected indicator.

To view the Help page that lists all available priority indicators, click the View all available priority indicators link on the Priority Areas tab. To view the Help page that lists all available data sources, click the View all available data sources link on the Data Sources tab. To view the Help page that lists all available indicators, click the View all available indicators link on the All Indicators tab.

Advanced Search

The Advanced Search feature allows you to further narrow your search by offering a wide variety of criteria to use for your search. You can enter more extensive criteria and combine more options for selecting and viewing indicators.

Running an advanced search

Note: You must complete fields from top to bottom since the system enables and populates a field based on what you select in the previous field. For example, you must select an indicator from the Indicator field after selecting a category from the Indicator Category field.

  1. Click the Advanced Search link on the Home page. The system displays the Advanced Search page in a new window.

  1. In the Location field, select a location, e.g. Midwest. The system enables the Indicator Category drop-down list and populates the field based on your selection.

  1. In the Indicator Category drop-down list, select an indicator category, e.g. Stroke. The system enables the Indicator drop-down list and populates the field based on your selection.

  1. In the Indicator drop-down list, select an indicator, e.g. Prevalence. The system enables the Stratification drop-down list and populates the field based on your selection.

  1. In the Stratification drop-down list, select a stratification, e.g. Gender and click GO. The system displays the Indicator Details page.

Fast Facts

The Fast Facts section scrolls and displays fast facts. You can click on a fast fact to view detailed data pertaining to the fast fact being displayed.
