Using this Site: Location Summary

After selecting a location, the system displays the data for the selected location in the Location Summary page. Data may be filtered by data source or by priority area by making a selection in the Data Source drop-down list or in the Priority Area drop-down list and selecting GO.

The Data Table

Information is displayed under the following five columns on the data table:

• Indicators
• Data
• Year
• Data Source
• Priority Area

Indicators
The Indicators column displays the indicator for which data is being displayed. Indicators are displayed under an indicator category and an indicator sub-category. For example, the indicator category "Cardiovascular Diseases" has a sub-category "Heart Failure", which has an indicator "HF Mortality". You can click the following graphics or to collapse or expand a sub-category. To view the details for an indicator, click on the indicator, and the system displays the Indicator Details page for the selected indicator and current location.

Data
The Data displayed for a specific indicator. The data for each indicator is displayed on the same row to the right of the indicator.

Year
The most recent year for which data is available for the indicator.

Data Source
The data source for the displayed data.

Priority Area
The priority area associated with the indicator.

Related Links

The Related Links section contains a link to the location's public health Web site, if available. This site is not contained within the DHDSP Data Trends and Maps system.

More Information

The sections at the bottom of the page provide more information for the content displayed on the page. The Footnotes section explains the symbols displayed on the page and the Data Source section identifies the source of the data. The Notes section provides more information about the data and the Calculation Details section defines the numerator and denominator for the calculation. Finally, the Suggested Citation section presents the suggested citation for the data.

• Select and view information for another location: simply select another location from the Location drop-down list at the top of the page and click GO.
• View the indicator details: click on an indicator.
