This National Academies report, which is based on analyses of numerous research studies and national datasets, provides evidence-based information on and analysis of the following domains: adolescent health status; adolescent health services, settings and providers; improving systems of adolescent health services; workforce preparation; and access to health services, including health insurance coverage. The report issues a set of recommendations for improving adolescent health services, which are vital to high-quality adolescent wellness checkups. The recommendations address the following areas: primary health care, public health system, privacy and confidentiality, clinical providers, workforce preparation, health insurance, and a research agenda for expanding our knowledge about adolescent health services.
