Description of Resource:
This multicontinent, randomized, controlled trial was conducted to evaluate the effect of combination antiretroviral therapy on preventing HIV-1 transmission and the clinical impact on those infected. Findings show that the study’s drug therapies reduced the rates of HIV-1 transmission and the studied clinical events. It can be concluded that the drug therapy benefits individual health and public health.
