"Sleep Disorders and Sleep Deprivation: An Unmet Public Health Problem" assesses the scope of sleep, sleep loss, and sleep disorders in the public health context; identifies current gaps in the public health system related to sleep, as well as the resources available to address those gaps; identifies how research, medical education, and training in the areas of sleep and sleep medicine may be improved; and develops a plan to advance interdisciplinary sleep medicine and sleep research.
