The report is a seminal document that outlines the current standing of LGBT health and health research. Perhaps most important is the call to action nestled within the outlining of research gaps and areas to move forward. The report emphasizes the frameworks grounded in life course, minority stress, and social ecology models that are especially helpful in looking at populations that are fraught with a stigmatized and largely invisible history. This report provides a big-picture view both into the social contexts of LGBT health research and into the research itself. Although it is not specifically systematic in nature, the report articulates precisely what was included and excluded from research methodology and search techniques. Overall, the report is an excellent contribution to informing the future of evidence-based research.
