In 2015, a total of 896 chikungunya virus disease cases were reported to ArboNET from U.S. states for 2015 (Table & Map). One locally-transmitted case was reported from Texas. All other cases occurred in travelers returning from affected areas.
A total of 237 chikungunya virus disease cases were reported to ArboNET from U.S. territories for 2015 (Table). Of these, 227 were locally-transmitted cases reported from Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. The remaining 10 cases occurred in travelers returning from other affected areas.
