School-based instructional programs are recommended to reduce riding with alcohol-impaired drivers, but there was insufficient evidence to determine whether these programs reduce alcohol-impaired driving or alcohol-related crashes. There was insufficient evidence to determine the effectiveness of peer organizations or social norming campaigns in reducing alcohol-impaired driving because of the small number of studies. School-based programs to reduce alcohol-impaired driving include instructional programs.
