The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is happy to offer a free email subscription service, which makes it easier for you to learn more about different topics including MMWR, Flu, HIV, Zika and more at CDC. With a subscription profile, you receive the updated information on items of interest to you automatically without having to return to the website and check for changes.

This is a free service provided by CDC. Your email address or phone number will only be used to deliver the requested information or to give you access to your user profile.

Prevent Emails from Being Marked “SPAM” or “JUNK”

To ensure delivery of email updates to your inbox, please add cdc@service.govdelivery.com to your email address book, adjust your spam settings, or follow the instructions from your email provider on how to prevent emails from being marked as “Spam” or “Junk Mail.”

Text Messages (Wireless Alerts)

In addition to sending email updates, CDC offers wireless or short message service (SMS) alerts for cell phones, pagers, and other text message enabled devices. When signing up for a topic, the “Subscription Type” dropdown lets you choose between email or SMS/Text Message.

By subscribing to this service you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Most wireless service providers provide text messaging service. While there is no charge to sign up for wireless updates, your wireless service provider may charge per message. Check with your provider for details on additional costs.

User Privacy

CDC uses GovDelivery to send e-newsletters, notices and text messages to subscribers. To subscribe to CDC products by email, you must provide an email address and indicate your subscription preferences, including the items you want to receive. To subscribe to CDC text messages, you must provide a mobile phone number and indicate your subscription preferences. The email and text message subscriber lists are password protected by GovDelivery. Only the CDC managers who send newsletters, notices, or texts via GovDelivery and the staff members who monitor the results of email and text initiatives have access to the subscriber lists. GovDelivery never allows access to the subscriber lists to anyone outside of CDC for any purpose. The GovDelivery Privacy Policy is available. 

Opt-Out

To opt-out (discontinue receiving text messages from CDC), reply STOP from your mobile device to 468311. We will confirm your opt-out by text and you will not receive any additional text messages from CDC unless you opt-in again. Be aware that this will halt all text messages from any government organization that uses GovDelivery to send text message alerts. CDC/GovDelivery is not liable for any delays in the receipt of any SMS messages connected with this program. Delivery of SMS messages is subject to effective transmission from your wireless service provider/network operator.
