Setting of Norovirus Outbreaks Reported through the National Outbreak Reporting System (NORS), 2009-2010. Among 1,462 single exposure settings, there were 932 (63.7%) norovirus outbreaks in a health care facility, 287 (19.6%) in a restaurant or banquet facility, 98 (6.7%) in a school or day-care facility, and 31 (2.1%) in a private residence. Other single settings accounted for the remaining 114. outbreaks. For foodborne outbreaks, “setting” refers to the setting where implicated food was consumed.
