12622 Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Video en Director's Briefing: SARS -- 10 Years Later It has been 10 years since the global outbreak of SARS, which killed hundreds of people and cost tens of billions of dollars. In this Director's Briefing video, CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden talks about how we have made progress in disease detection since SARS; however, we remain at risk from global health threats, including emerging and drug-resistant microbes. Next-generation tools like molecular sequencing and bioinformatics can help us rapidly identify and stop these killer microbes before they spread, but we must act now. Comments on this video are allowed in accordance with our comment policy: http://www.cdc.gov/SocialMedia/Tools/CommentPolicy.html This video can also be viewed at http://streaming.cdc.gov/vod.php?id=d70dfef016f95fc859f98b407aa3cc6520130312132525611
